Dial A for Attorney Is Here — And I Am Not Okay About It
Book 4 of Curves & Capital is live. David Kingsley finally gets his story.
If you’ve been following the Curves & Capital series, you already know David Kingsley. He’s the one in the background of every book — steady, dependable, the person everyone leans on when the world starts tilting sideways. He’s Caleb’s older brother. A single dad. An attorney who fights harder for everyone else than he’s ever fought for himself.
And he has been waiting very patiently for his book.
That wait is over. Dial A for Attorney is live right now on my store, Amazon, and Kindle Unlimited.
I need to tell you about this one.
The Setup
David hasn’t let himself want anyone since his ex-wife walked out on him and their daughter six years ago. He made a rule. No relationships. No distractions. Just Michaela. And it worked — until the morning he tied his daughter’s shoes on the first day of school, stood up, and found himself looking directly at Principal Nora Harrison.
Nora has spent her whole life making herself smaller so she doesn’t inconvenience anyone. She’s warm and funny and wickedly sharp, and she has absolutely no idea how magnetic she is. She’s also the last person who should be falling for a parent at her school — especially one whose custody battle is about to drag them both into the spotlight.
Because David’s ex? She’s back. And she brought lawyers.
Why This Book Wrecked Me
I’m going to be honest with you — this is the book I’ve been building toward since page one of the series.
It’s about the terror of choosing someone when everything in your history tells you that’s how you get hurt. It’s about a man learning that protecting the people you love doesn’t mean doing it alone, and a woman learning that she’s allowed to stay.
It has a custody battle that will make you hold your breath. A group chat scene that made me laugh so hard I had to walk away from my laptop. A golden retriever named Archimedes who was found guilty of tennis ball theft under maritime salvage law because, according to Michaela, retrievers are “basically boats with legs.”
And then there’s Michaela.
A Word About Michaela Kingsley
Michaela is eight and a half. She has the vocabulary of someone three times her age, the negotiation skills of a seasoned litigator, and absolutely zero impulse control when it comes to meddling in her father’s love life.
She once cited “Grandma v. Kingsley Household, 2023” as legal precedent to secure extra marshmallows in her hot chocolate. She has one floppy ear and one “philosophical ear” on her drawing of Archimedes — the left one, because “it points at truth.” She has decided, with absolute certainty, that Nora belongs to them.
She is not wrong.
I have never written a character who stole readers’ hearts the way this kid does. The messages I’ve been getting since release have been overwhelming — people crying on public transport, staying up past midnight to finish, messaging me to say that Michaela destroyed them in the best possible way.
Readers are calling it their favourite book in the series, and honestly? It might be mine too.
What Readers Are Saying
The reviews have been coming in and they’re making me emotional:
“This has taken the spot for my favorite Megan Wade book of all time.”
“This book made me sob like a baby.”
“I laughed out loud and cried the next minute.”
“Michaela is the star of the show. There were moments that made me cry for that hilarious, precocious little girl.”
The book is currently sitting at 4.4 out of 5 on Goodreads with 300+ ratings. I am genuinely so proud.
